Corona Virus (Omicron)
The Impact of Coronavirus has been affecting our lives for the last 2 years and there is no near end that is visible. While the cases were low below November in 2021. The world was struck again with the third of Coronavirus, which came in the form of Omicron. The total number of cases in the world has summed up to around 36 crores and the death tally has been to around 5.6 million. These numbers are too scary and hence proper care should be taken. While the third wave was fought bravely, as India was already prepared with most of the population being vaccinated. The number of cases is again dropping, meaning the peak point of the third wave has been reached. While there are restrictions, offices are allowed to be open. Hence, the third wave has not impacted majorly on the economy, unlike the first and second waves.
Startup day- 16 January
The number of startups in India is rising exponentially. Looks like there is a wind of startups going on. In 2021 alone, the startups of India raised around $ 42 billion. These numbers are huge and show that investors are leaning toward the businesses in India. The total number of unicorns crossed 90, while 46 were in 2021 only. Instead of getting a job, people are now searching for ‘How to do a start-up?’ These things are showing the mentality of people is changing. Changes are a part of our lives. Technology and Social Media have changed the way we look at things and our surroundings. Instagram, Facebook, and many other applications have become a source of income for many people and a way to do business. These are the changes which are good and they help in the economy of the country. India will be celebrating 16 January every year, as a ‘Start-up’ day.

There were many ups and downs in the Indian Cricket Team last year. Virat Kohli first stepped down as a skipper of ODI’s and T20’s and now also has resigned from the post of Test Cricket captain. While people were still talking about the reason behind all this. BCCI concluded that it was a mutual decision and no imposition of any kind of thoughts were laid on Virat Kohli. Been waiting for Virat’s century for 3 years in a row, fans are waiting for their favorite cricketer to come back in form.
Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard
Microsoft recently agreed to buy Activision Blizzard in a $68.7 billion deal. This company was founded in 2008 and has been in limelight since then. They created many famous and most playable games such as Candy Crush, Call of Duty, Diablo, etc. The gaming market is the new glittering scope for investors. The gaming industry is one of the fastest-growing industries in the world. Its effects are also seen in India. Microsoft is for seeking the seeds of profits, as they know the importance of the gaming industry in the upcoming times.
