Chiffon is a light and balanced thin fabric, or gauze, such as gossamer, woven with alternating S- and Z-twist (high-twist) crepe yarns. The twist in the crepe threads slightly twists the fabric both ways after weaving, giving it a little stretch and a slightly rough feel.
